Program Description
**Application Deadline for Metro North Students Extended to Dec. 15** Do you ever look around you and think of creative ways that you could improve a park, a building, or a process in your community? If so, we would love for you to join us and work on your own independent project based in your community. You will learn to draw, use design programs to visualize your ideas, and learn how to effectively communicate them. Through this experience you will also learn about social and environmental issues facing the communities that surround you.
At the Hideo Sasaki Foundation we partner with professionals in the design industry to mentor you through your project and to introduce you to the different careers you can pursue through design. From January to May you will work on your project to identify the topic, design a solution to the issue you want to address, clearly communicate your idea and be able to think of how to pursue it. Through the program you will be able to:
Earn $16.25 per hour while you learn
Build up your resume
Meet new people and make new friends
Explore Boston and surrounding areas
Get to know experts in the field of architecture, urban planning, and landscape design
